At Sacred Heart, we celebrated Palm Sunday the weekend of March 28 and 29. With Palm Sunday begins the holiest week of the year in the Catholic Church. Join us this week at Sacred Heart as families, like the one shown here, gather to remember and give praise!
Each year, the Knights of Columbus and the Women's Guild host a grand celebration in honor of St. Patrick's day. This year the celebration was held on March 16 in the parish center. The event always includes singing, food and fellowship. Pictured here is just one of the many leprechauns who participated in the festivities. Watch this page for upcoming events for the Women's Guild and Knights and join the fun!
The attendance at the Sacred Heart Fish Fry Fridays has been tremendous! Pictured here are just two of our many devoted volunteers. The Fish Fry events are sponsored by SMASH (Student Ministry at Sacred Heart) and the proceeds help our young people attend mission trips, conferences and the National Catholic Youth Conference. You have just two weeks left to sample the delicious fish cooked by the team of volunteers. CLICK HERE to learn more.
The Sacred Heart Church Lenten soup supper and Reconciliation service was held on Monday, March 9. At the supper, we fed over 100 guests who feasted on Father Hess' secret chilli recipe, along with potato soup, hot dogs and chilli dogs. The proceeds from the free-will offering will go toward the Sacred Heart Church Rice Bowl project. Approximately 150 parishioners attended the Reconciliation service where 12 local priests heard confessions.
On Saturday, March 7, approximately 90 Sacred Heart Church 2nd graders from Children's Faith Formation and Sacred Heart School spent the morning learning about the meaning and the importance of Eucharist in the Catholic Church. On April 18 and May 2, 130 students will receive First Eucharist at special Masses. Please join us in praying for our students. Pictured here are four of the happy participants!
The Knights of Columbus from Sacred Heart Church have a pancake breakfast just about every month throughout the year. Each month, the proceeds go to support an organization or a charity. On March 8, the benefactor of the pancake breakfast was the CRS Rice Bowl project at Sacred Heart. Shown here are some of the Knights who are ready to promote this great cause. To learn more about CRS Rice Bowl, visit the LENT page and watch the video to learn more about the good work of Catholic Relief Services.
