Congratulations during this exciting time for you and your family!
CHILDREN BAPTISM: As you prepare your child for Baptism we want to welcome you into our Sacred Heart Catholic Community. Our Baptismal Preparation Course is from Ascension Press called Belonging: Baptism in the Family of God. It involves two parts, an online-certification course and one in-person session in our Parish Center. Through engaging video presentations and a beautifully presented and illustrated Parent’s Guide, you will be sure to have an incredible encounter with Jesus and the Church and learn key tools to assist you in raising your child in the Faith. Ultimately, you will learn what it means to be a child of God yourself, and that in the Church, you will always have a place where you belong. Watch the video above for a short message from Fr. Mike Schmitz.
We also invite you to view the Role of Godparents, a 5-minute video about their requirements and responsibilities. We highly encourage Godparents to attend our baptismal preparation course.
To get started, send us an email to [email protected] and we will provide you with the steps to enroll in the Belonging Online Certification Course, which can be completed at your own pace. Once the online course is completed, you will enroll in the In-Person Session. The session is offered once per month in English on the 3rd Tuesday of each month 5:00-6:30pm, and in Spanish on the 4th Tuesday of each month 5:00-6:30pm. Next In-Person Sessions: June 17 (English), June 24 (Spanish).
ADULT BAPTISM: If you are an adult wanting to receive your own Baptism, you must undergo a period of preparation before receiving the Sacrament. This preparation is called the catechumenate and is designed to bring the faith of the candidate to maturity. Through the process, the catechumen is exposed to the life of faith, the liturgy and the love of the people of God through the rites of initiation. CLICK HERE to learn more about becoming Catholic. All dates for Baptisms must be scheduled through the parish office staff.
