As one of the oldest charitable organizations in the world, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is a Catholic lay organization of about 800,000 men and women throughout 150 countries on five continents around the world.   The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is composed of women and men who seek their personal holiness through works of charity.

Heavenly Father, St. Vincent de Paul humbly thanks you for the opportunity to help those in need and crisis.  Please continue to look upon those that we serve, bless them, and enable them to overcome their hardships and difficulties.   Please continue to allow us at St. Vincent de Paul to be aware of those in need so that we can confidentially serve these members of our Parish family and nearby community.  During the holidays, please bring the spirit of the season to all of us so that we can bring some joy and peace to all we serve and encounter.  Amen

Sacred Heart parishioners Rolla Hermann (left) and Chuck Korte (right) delivered the clothing to SVdP stores. Rolla is the Sacred Heart President of SVdP. Chuck is the President of the District Counsel over all the SVdP Parishes!  Thank you for your donations so friends in our community will be warm this winter!
       

School Food Pantry
The Sacred Heart St. Vincent de Paul conference thanks YOU for your support to our ministry.  Over the past year, we have successfully opened a Food Pantry in our school for those school families needing assistance.  We have partnered with the Food Bank of Iowa to provide supplemental food for those families in need whom are identified and approved of by school administration.   With this program we are hoping to alleviate household stress and enhance learning for children by providing assistance to the entire household.  These families are hard working, humble and grateful people that just need some assistance in a time of need.   We are humbled by this opportunity to serve. 

We would like to profusely thank the Women’s Guild for their donations to this project!  None of this would be possible without the great people of Sacred Heart and their generous ministries!
